Dr. Zoe Forward, a native of North Carolina, grew up on the coast. After graduating with honors from Duke University she received her DVM. from Ohio State. Although she loved Ohio State, the snow drove her back to the south. She did an externship in exotic animal medicine at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville and the Knoxville Zoo. After a year in private practice in Tennessee, she moved back to North Carolina where she practiced in Chapel Hill for 5 years and then Charlotte for the past twelve years.
In the pursuit of cutting edge, progressive general practice medicine, she studied and received an advanced degree from the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) in canine/feline practice in 2009.
Her special interests include canine/feline dentistry, dermatology, and complex endocrine diseases. As well, she provides care and surgery for small mammals (rabbits, ferrets, rodents and hedgehogs).
When not being a veterinarian you can find her cheering on her son at baseball, chasing after her toddler, at her laptop writing fiction, or welcoming home her globe-trotting conservation ecologist husband. She’s got an ever-changing menagerie of pets at home to keep the family busy.
