Dr. Marlowe was born and raised in Charlotte. As a small child she would bring injured wildlife and stray animals home for care, and her family has known since kindergarten she would become a veterinarian. She grew up with a Golden Retriever side kick who accompanied her through all her childhood and teenage adventures. After high school she headed to Raleigh to start her path to veterinary science. She completed her Bachelor of Animal Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University. After 8 years at NCSU she is a die hard Wolfpack fan and can be found yelling at the television during basketball season.
Since graduation she has practiced small animal veterinary medicine in the Charlotte area. Internal medicine, pain management, and exotic pet medicine are her special areas of interest. She is certified through the Chi Institute in acupuncture and loves incorporating Traditional Chinese Medicine for a balanced integrative approach to medical and orthopedic cases. Dr. Marlowe considers herself “the other family doctor,” and goes the extra mile to keep furry family members happy and healthy.
When Dr. Marlowe is not at work she can be found reading, spending time outdoors, traveling, and enjoying family time with her husband and daughter. She has incorporated her two passions for travel and veterinary medicine by volunteering her veterinary services and training students in underserved areas of India and Romania.
Her family’s household is ruled by a menagerie of rescues including a very sweet fat geriatric black cat, a spunky spoiled Pomeranian, a bouncy squishy faced Boston Terrier, and an elderly warm-hearted tripod mutt.
